Helping Homeless Pets Find A Home

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) of Wake County is an organization that takes in over 3,200 animals a year and provides them with food, love, attention, medical care and behavioral support while they wait to find an adoptive home.

SPCA of Wake County prides themselves in being a no-kill organization. In helping with this, the organization runs a volunteer Foster Program that allows the volunteers to care for the animals in their own home since they are not yet candidates for adoption due to age or illness. In 2013, the volunteers provided 44,000 hours of service.
